Barking Dogs Corona Virus Policy and Procedures
This is a review of the current policies in place at Barking Dogs Foot and Ankle Care. This is to make you aware of the steps being performed to protect both the doctors, team members and most importantly our patients. Please note that we are monitoring the CDC for guidance as well as the state society for podiatric medicine and the American Medical Association.
COVID Policy in the Office:
- Monitoring of Symptoms
- All Physicians and Staff are monitoring themselves including temperature monitoring. Per the CDC guidelines when symptoms are experienced or fever, we will self monitor
- If testing is required, evaluation by a medical physician and testing will be the responsibility of the person of concern
- Hand Washing
- Appropriate handwashing is to be performed after all contact with persons, objects and material. There is handwashing stations located in multiple areas. Supplies for hand sanitizer is also available to all team and staff members
- Personal Protective Equipment
- All Physicians and team members are requiring to wear a facial covering. Full Facial shields and goggles are available as well when in direct contact with patients when the procedure requires it.
- Guidelines for exposure to fluids are to be followed as we in place prior to the COVID pandemic.
- Cleansing of the Office
- Increased cleansing with FDA approved cleansers are to be used on any area of patient contact, all surfaces, including instruments, xray plates, checkout area, handles to doors, etc.
- This is to be done between every patient and periodically throughout the day
- Valet Waiting Room
- At this time, no one is allowed in the reception area. Patients will contact the office prior to entering the building. When the rooms are properly prepared, the patient is called and taken directly into the room.
- Once in the room, temperatures will be performed and insurance verification, paperwork will be performed
- For checkout, we ask to maintain social distancing and stay behind the plexiglass separators for protection.
- We also offer curbside pickup on products purchased over the phone.
- When required, 1 family member at most may be present during the visit
- Patient Screening
- Aside from temperatures to be performed, the patients are asked and sign a screening questionnaire prepared by PICA services.
- Prior to appointments, patient are to self-monitor for symptoms and if they are experiencing symptoms, we are happy to reschedule until an appointment can be made safely. All writing instruments are sanitized between uses.
- All patients are always to wear a facial covering and maintain appropriate social distancing guideline.
As we have seen this is an overview and while monitoring for changes, any questions or suggestions are always welcomed, and we are happy to serve and provide care.
