I couldn’t believe my eyes watching the Today show yesterday when I saw the report on HEAD SPURS. It’s well known that cell phones are an addictive product based on the fact that there are now apps to make you DECREASE your cell phone use. The Women’s World Cup brings out the soccer fans and my brother in law is always rooting for the Tottenham Hotspurs.
Everyday, I see HEEL SPURS! MY life is surrounded by Spurs!
In our practice and plantar roughly 60% of our patients, probably the most common thing that we think.
Plantar fasciitis caused by inflammation and minor tears located in the area of a person’s foot. It is most commonly an overuse injury although from a an inflammatory conditions can create these symptoms. It is always good to get a doctor’s appointment to evaluate and make sure there is not something else like stress fractures or abnormalities of the heel bone or soft tissue in the area. While the head spurs form from pulling at the base of the skull, heel spurs can form by your plantar fascia pulling on your heel bone.
At Barking dogs foot and ankle care, focus on educating her patients getting to the root cause of their problem, and get back to your activity as soon as possible. The Key to our treatment is addressing your biomechanics (the way that you walk), and controlling the inflammation. With our patients, we create a treatment plan individualized to a persons activity level, and more importantly, YOUR LIFE. (People are busy!!!)
One unique way that we do that at our office is the use of extracorporeal pulsatile activation therapy for the past easy procedure that takes about 10 minutes that focuses on increasing healing time in the area of an injury.
